LEO Freedom Week

14 - 18 September

The definition of freedom is:

  1. The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.
  2. The state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.
  3. The state of not being subject to or affected by (something undesirable).

English Events

8 September - International Day of Literacy

International Literacy Day 2020 focused on Literacy teaching and learning in the Covid-19 crisis and beyond, with a focus on the role of educators and changing teaching practices. This means that this year the day was more relevant than ever to teachers and the challenges of teaching literacy that Covid-19 has brought, and future-proof approaches to teaching that might be adopted.

1 October - National Poetry Day

National Poetry Day is the annual mass celebration on the first Thursday of October that encourages all to enjoy, discover and share poetry. This year, National Poetry Day chose the theme, Vision to allow children to see the world like a poet.

LEO Maths Week

9 - 13 November

For Autumn Term's LEO Maths Week we had lots of competitions for pupils across the Trust and looked at the importance ff Maths in the Covid-19 pandemic.

LEO Anti-Bullying Week

16 - 20 November

Anti-Bullying Week 2020 had the theme ‘United Against Bullying’. It was coordinated by
the Anti-Bullying Alliance, which is based at leading children’s charity the National Children’s Bureau. They have worked with over 300 children and young people to decide the theme for this year.

LEO Nursery Rhyme Week

16 - 20 November

This week is National Nursery Rhyme Week, this is the first year that each of our schools took part in this great event.

This year Nursery Rhyme Week are focusing on 5 rhymes:

  1. Five Little Speckled Frogs
  2. Hickory Dickory Dock
  3. Miss Polly had a Dolly (Probably the least familiar)
  4. Old MacDonald had a Farm
  5. The Wheels on the Bus
