Cheryl Shirley - Director of Digital

As Director of Digital at LEO Academy Trust, Cheryl provides strategic leadership across a rapidly evolving digital landscape. She is one of the architects behind the Trust’s pioneering 1:1 Chromebook programme, an initiative that ensures every pupil has personal access to technology, removing barriers to learning and fostering digital equity across the entire organisation.

Cheryl’s work is built on four key pillars that drive both operational efficiency and educational excellence: Digital Learning, Data & Insights, Networks & Systems, and Digital Marketing. By aligning these areas, she ensures that technology is not just an add-on, but a fundamental driver of the LEO pupil offer.

A Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and holder of an NPQH, Cheryl’s expertise is grounded in both pedagogy and leadership. Her transformative impact was recognised nationally when she received a Pearson Silver Award winner for Digital Innovator of the Year.
