With the national theme ‘Make it your Book Day - Reading for Pleasure,’ schools across LEO Academy Trust got involved with a wide range of opportunities throughout the day to nurture the love of reading on 3rd March 2023.

Children and staff arrived to school dressed as a chosen book character, and had the chance to take part in door decorating competitions, design their own book covers, and much more!

Children received a book token, and are now able to take it to a local bookseller where they will be able to swap it for a book of their choice.

"World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. Our mission is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own."

LEO Academy Trust were also delighted to take part in a case study with the Department for Education to discuss how we use technology to help our children develop their reading and comprehension skills.
