Across LEO Academies children and staff acknowledged International Women's Day on 8th March 2023. Lessons and resources were shared to celebrate women's achievements as well as raising awareness about discrimination. The work supports the LEO Academy Pupil Outcome of - Active Citizens in a Global Community which particularly focuses on the importance of diversity and inclusion.

An activity which resonated across the year groups was entitled ' My Inspiration'. Children thought about an important female in their life or somebody they have found inspirational. They drew a picture of the woman and wrote captions to explain why she is so special. Amongst well known historical figures, scientists, musicians and environmentalists children also remembered their mothers, who are often the most inspirational women in their lives.
